The president’s legal team has hired the Washington firm of Jones Day, the Washington Post reported.
The firm’s chairman is Charles Harder, who was Trump’s personal attorney from 2007 to 2009.
Jones Day has been a frequent target of criticism from the White House.
The Post reported that in the months leading up to Trump’s inauguration, the firm’s client list included the Black Lives Matter movement, and the families of the two police officers killed by Eric Garner, who died after being placed in a chokehold.
Trump himself took issue with Harder during his campaign, calling him “a total thug” who “is a total liar.”
